Begun in 1960 as a part-time hobby by Ray and Joyce Stockslager, Stockslager’s Greenhouse and Garden Center in New Lebanon, Ohio, has grown from one small glass greenhouse to nearly five acres under cover. Now into its third generation, sons Duke and Scott and grandson Jacob oversee the production in this year-round growing facility, sharing their experience and expertise with retail and wholesale customers alike. Scott's wife Barb is also an integral part of the business, running the wholesale operation with efficiency and poise.

As the new year arrives, approximately 480,000 tuberous begonias will be produced and shipped to growers throughout the Midwest. Selling and delivering bedding plants will encompass most of the spring activity. In fall, garden mums and Belgian mums will burst forth in color, followed shortly thereafter by the magnificent reds, pinks, and many other vibrant variations of poinsettias.
